Lick the prisoner to bewitch his quiz.

Woah, you guys are back here? I guess reading stuff can be interesting. That's pretty cool. I'm impressed with all of us.

Blog blog blog. Today's mostly about TV shows, but first off...

The hep cats out there might be familiar with Lick. It's a nifty little store in Freo with some rockin' clothes etc. I went in there recently and had a chat with Annette, one of the store's owners.

They've got a pretty awesome thing going on there, and something that I think is particularly awesome is their art space. They keep one of the window spaces free all the time so they can display different installations by various artists and the like. At the moment they've got some art by Timothy Rollin (pictured below). The window installation changes about every four weeks, and, without giving anything away, January looks to be a little bit exciting.

If you're in Freo anytime soon, it's definitely worth a visit, even if you're not after a new outfit. There's loads of stuff to look at inside, so head in.

Check it out by joining Lick's facebook group, and taking a gander at Timothy Rollin's blog.

So I switched on the TV the other night and ended up watching the weirdest television show I've experienced in a while. I'm talking about The Prisoner.

If any of you know the episode of The Simpsons where Homer is carted off to "the island", then you're already pretty familiar with the concept.

It follows the life of Number 6, a former secret agent. After suddenly resigning from his job, he is suddenly and mysteriously transported to the Village, a bizarrely surreal place where he is observed and probed for information by Number 2 and his henchmen, under the direction of the unseen Number 1.

Plot lines are weird, surreal and very, very trippy. I've been taken by the idea of an anti-escape orb named Rover, though. There were only ever seventeen episodes made, and I'm totally keen to track them down on DVD and watch them all.

Watch for a good mindfuck.

So Bewitched has been on GO! for a while now, and while I much prefer it to I Dream of Jeannie, it's starting to piss me off.

Why?

Endora.

For those of you who don't watch, Endora is Samantha's mum. She hates Samantha's husband Darrin with a passion, and uses all variety of magic to attempt to break the couple up.

It's infuriating. If I was Samantha, I'd give that bitch a good slap around the face and tell her to shape up or ship out. It's like, "Stop taking this shit lying down, Sam. Stand up for yourself!"

She never does, though. All Samantha does is point her finger and assume a semi-peeved tone.

"Mother!"

URGH!

Moving away from frustrating witches. QI screens every Tuesday night at 9.30 on ABC1, and if you don't watch it you're a fool.

Wikipedia decribes it as a comedy panel game television quiz show. Not to be confusing, yeesh.

Anyway, Stephen Fry hosts, and each week he's joined by four guests (one of whom is invariably Alan Davies). Stephen will quiz the panel on questions about interesting stuff, and much silliness always ensues.

It's a pretty awesome show, and a few weeks ago I wept from laughing at a conversation about turtles (which you can and should watch here).

Highly recommended.

  6. Too much makeup. What is she, a whore or a witch? She needs to choose.
